Changes to universal postal service tariffs

From 1 January 2025, new Universal Postal Service tariffs have come into effect, approved by the Public Utilities Commission’s Decision No. 88 of 28 November 2024. These have been introduced in line with the procedures set out in the Law on Public Service Regulators.

The tariff changes are due to shifts in customer habits, a decline in traditional postal shipment volumes, rising transport and logistics costs, higher energy prices, and increases in employee wages.

Pricing

From 1 January 2025, a new surcharge for the tracking service will apply. A discount is available for Universal Postal Service shipments prepared via the self-service site mans.pasts.lv.
