The amount of customs duty depends on the shipment contents, the country of origin of the goods, and the shipment value.
When preparing a shipment and entering the correct type of goods (HS code), value, and country of origin, the customs duty amount will be calculated. However, please note that the final customs duty amount is determined by US customs authorities.
For private individuals, when entering the correct type of goods (HS code), value, and country of origin on mans.pasts.lv, we calculate an initial provisional customs duty amount. After the shipment arrives in the USA, US customs authorities may recalculate the customs duty.
If a recalculation occurs, we will notify you by email and issue an invoice in your mans.pasts.lv account for payment of the adjusted US customs duty.
For business customers, the provisional tax amount is displayed at the end of the shipment preparation process on manspasts.lv and express.pasts.lv, after all data has been entered and the shipment confirmed. The tax amount is calculated based on the information provided by the customer about the goods.
By entering the correct type of goods (HS code), value, and country of origin, the system displays an estimated customs duty amount. This estimate is sufficiently accurate to allow companies to plan costs prior to shipment dispatch.
The final customs duty amount is determined by US customs authorities and will be indicated in our report and invoice after the service has been provided.
