Latvijas Pasts launches the 252nd parcel locker; 200 more expected

SJSC Latvijas Pasts, through its continuous effort to develop the largest network of parcel lockers across the country, has now expanded the number of parcel lockers in Latvia to 252 units.

To broaden its presence both in densely populated areas and in more remote regions of the country, the national postal operator intends to install more than 200 parcel lockers this year. This means that by the end of 2024, Latvijas Pasts is set to establish one of the largest parcel locker networks in the country. Currently, there are a total of 252 company’s parcel lockers across Latvia.

Since the beginning of the year, Latvijas Pasts has installed 34 new blue parcel lockers, aiming to enhance the possibilities of delivering and receiving postal items. As a result, the availability of services for customers, both individuals and businesses, has been improved.

“The team is constantly striving to accomplish more, perform better and provide residents with convenient ways to receive services that are tailored to their needs. This year, we have installed the first parcel locker in Pavilosta, while the most recent one can be found in Limbazi. We are only halfway towards achieving our goal of having the country’s largest parcel locker network,” Jānis Kūliņš, Member of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, reveals.

Along with placing new parcel lockers, the company is also developing the existing coverage by adding a dedicated compartment for sending letters to the existing lockers. This particular feature is integrated in all of the parcel lockers that have been placed this year.

The parcel lockers installed this year can be found in Akniste, Bergi, Dagda, Dundaga, Eleja, Incukalns, Jaunjelgava, Jaunpiebalga, Jelgava, Krauja, Lapmezciems, Liepa, Liepaja, Limbazi, Mazsalaca, Mersrags, Nakotne, Nica, Ogresgals, Pavilosta, Priekule, Priekuli, Ragana, Rauna, Riga, Skriveri, Skrunda, Stende, Strenci and Varaklani.

As previously reported, Latvijas Pasts is constantly improving and expanding its services in order to reinforce its position in the business segments it represents. One of the company’s strategic priorities is to increase the number of parcel lockers to 500 in 2025, resulting in the largest network of parcel lockers across Latvia, which will significantly expand the possibilities of receiving postal items for customers.

At the same time, the company is developing the e-commerce mail and logistics business segment, as well as improving the availability of universal postal services, item delivery processes and customer service. Latvijas Pasts is also promoting new directions for redirecting parcels and cooperating with international e-commerce service providers to position Riga as a logistics hub.
